Erasmus+ Project No. 2024-2-NL01-KA210-ADU-000260781
We launched a new project - Independence Hub — which is a project aimed at helping displaced people from Ukraine navigate everyday life in European host countries, including the Netherlands and Poland.
Independence Hub is funded by the Erasmus+ programme and brings together several partner organisations across the EU. The project focuses on something very concrete: helping people regain independence and confidence after displacement by giving them clear, accessible, and practical guidance.
What is Independence Hub?
For many refugees, the hardest part of starting over is not a single big challenge, but dozens of small ones:How does healthcare work? Where to look for housing? What documents are needed for work or education? Who can be trusted for legal advice?
Independence Hub addresses these questions through:
Digital tools and online resources explaining legal, housing, employment, healthcare, education, and cultural systems
Practical, easy-to-understand guidance tailored to real situations people face
Online workshops and learning formats that help people better understand their rights and options
Tools designed to be accessible for people with different levels of digital literacy
The goal is to empower — helping displaced people make informed decisions and feel more confident navigating life in a new country.
Soyka NL’s Role
Soyka NL serves as a coordinating partner. Our role focuses on contributing practical expertise, supporting coordination, and ensuring that the project remains grounded in the real needs of displaced communities.
This work builds directly on Soyka’s broader mission: supporting people affected by war and repression through practical help, education, civic tools, and community-based initiatives.
Why This Matters
Independence Hub reflects a shift from emergency-only support toward longer-term integration and self-sufficiency. Access to clear information, trustworthy tools, and supportive learning environments can make a real difference — reducing uncertainty, stress, and dependency.
We believe that combining digital solutions with human-centred design and civic values is a powerful way to support people rebuilding their lives.
